Grateful
As we approach Thanksgiving, here are a few things I’m grateful for.
1-Family. My wife, my son, my mother, father, brother, my dogs. All the people that are family. Without each one of you, I would not be this grown little kid having fun in the world. Thank you.
2-The leaders I did/didn’t get along with. Through my years I’ve had plenty of conflict. All this conflict led to me terrible things, doing crappy things and even forgetting who I was as a person. I had some good leaders pushing me in the right direction and some bad leaders breaking me down. I’m better because of you. Even though I haven’t told you yet. Thank you.
3-The Air Force. You have given me more than I could ever give you in return. I joined to leave NYC, and stayed to serve my country among people that have become family. My family has stability and freedom because of you. I’m peaceful knowing our relationship, although it had its ups and downs, has led us to a place where I see the value you’ve given me.
Holidays like this are a great opportunity to “stop and smell the roses,” although it seems there none to be found.
What are you thankful for?
