It’s that simple.
But in practice, it’s much harder than that.
As leaders, we know where we want to go. We know our team can get there but we struggle in communicating the path.
We have to figure this out!
Whether we know it or not, we are always setting the sail. Every action, every word, every move is taking us towards or away from the place we want to go.
What this means is that if you are a leader of a team and you’re asking yourself things like “why is my team not talking to me?” or “why is my team not doing as good as they should?” or “why won’t anybody do their job?” Then here’s what you must consider…
You are the one responsible.
It’s a scary thought, I know. And it SHOULD be scary, because that’s the mantle leaders carry. A scary responsibility that encompasses such deeply rooted analysis of our own selves!
Now, it’s time to do the hard work of getting to know where you are and where you need to go.
So you can get back to doing what you’re supposed to be doing.
Setting the sail.
